The Prince of Wales' Busy Days

Their Royal Highnesses spend a day in the East Midlands

25th January 2011

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall enjoyed sampling British food, making their own pork pies and visiting an artisan bakery in the East Midlands today.

Part of the visit included a tour of a cheese dairy and Dickinson and Morris Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe in Melton Mowbray. The Prince sampled a piece of the Duchy Originals Red Leicester at Long Clawson Dairy, which celebrated its centenary.

Just before The Prince unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion, The Duchess said: “It’s lovely, really, really good.”

His Royal Highness, who visited the dairy in 1985, told the staff and guests that he was pleased to be back in Leicestershire.
